Privacy Policy

Universality ("we", "us") runs a clipping network: creators ("you") join campaigns, post short videos on TikTok or Instagram, submit the links to us, and earn money based on the views those videos get. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who can see it, and how you can control it.

1. What we collect

• Your Discord identity. When you sign in with Discord we receive your Discord user ID, username and avatar. We only ask for the identify permission. We do not read your messages, friends or server contents.
• Connected TikTok and Instagram accounts. If you connect an account, we store its account ID, username and the access token that lets us read statistics for videos posted by that account. Tokens are stored encrypted. We use them only to confirm that a submitted video was posted by you, to read its post time, and to read its view, like, comment, save and share counts. We never post, edit or delete anything on your accounts and we never read your private messages.
• Videos you submit. The link, the platform's statistics for it (updated hourly, with a daily history), and the review decision.
• Audience demographics. The screenshot or screen recording you upload with each submission. It can show the age, gender and country breakdown of your audience.
• Payout details. The payment method details you add (for example a PayPal email or wallet address), stored encrypted, and your payout request history.
• Messages you send us through the Contact form, bug reports and data-deletion requests.
• Technical data. A login cookie (needed to keep you signed in), and your IP address in server logs and for abuse prevention (rate limiting).

2. How we use it

• To sign you in and keep your session.
• To verify submissions, track views, calculate what each video earns under its campaign's rules, and pay you.
• To review submissions for quality, rule compliance and fraud (for example bought views).
• To answer your messages and keep the service secure and working.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Who can see it

• Our operators (staff who run campaigns) can see your profile, submissions, statistics, demographics uploads and, when they process a payout, the payout details you chose.
• Everyone, through the public leaderboard. Your Discord username, profile picture and the number of views your approved clips have gained appear on our public leaderboard, which anyone can open without signing in. Money amounts are never shown. You can hide yourself at any time in Settings → Leaderboard, and you disappear right away.
• Other creators cannot see anything else about you.
• Service providers that run the platform for us: our hosting provider (Railway), and the APIs we call on your behalf: Discord, TikTok and Meta (Instagram). Their own privacy policies apply to what they collect.
• We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect against fraud or abuse.

4. Data from TikTok and Instagram

Data we get from TikTok and Instagram is used only for the purposes above. You can unlink an account at any time in My accounts; doing so deletes the stored login for that account and stops further syncing. Videos you already submitted keep their last recorded statistics unless you also ask us to delete your data. You can also remove our access from inside TikTok or Instagram's own settings.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete it, we delete your profile, submissions, uploaded files, payout details and connected-account logins within 30 days. We may keep limited records that we are required to keep, or need for a legitimate purpose such as payment records and fraud prevention. Our database backups are kept for up to 7 days before being replaced.

6. Your choices and rights

• Access and correction: most of your data is visible in your dashboard. Contact us to correct anything.
• Deletion: open Settings → Ask us to delete my data in the dashboard, or contact us using the details below.
• Unlink accounts: at any time from My accounts.
• Leaderboard: hide yourself any time from Settings → Leaderboard.

How to request deletion (data deletion instructions): sign in, go to Settings, choose "Ask us to delete my data" and confirm. If you can't sign in, contact us with your Discord username and we will verify and delete your data.

7. Security

Connected-account logins and payout details are encrypted in our database, the site is served over HTTPS, and access to operator tools is limited to named staff and logged. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong Discord password and two-factor authentication.

8. Age

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it, to use Universality.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. If the changes are significant we will tell you in the dashboard. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
